About The Bridgewater Blues Band
The Bridgewater Blues Band was formed in Autumn 2008 and hail from Manchester, UK. The band consisted of two guitars, bass, vocal and drums and played more progressive blues. They were searching for their own “sound” which they felt more comfortable with. This made the band set a new line up with guitar, keyboards/harmonica, bass, drums & vocals. They now play a blistering set of fiery traditional blues.
The set list includes serious blues numbers by Howlin Wolf/Muddy Waters/BB/Freddie/Albert King/Sonny Boy Williamson as well as early ZZ Top, Cream and JJ Cale, and some of their original material as well. The band is a must see for any blues fan, powerful and with feeling. Imagine being transported in a time machine back to 1967 and you get the picture of the band's sound.
They began rehearsing/jamming at local Cheadle / Stockport pubs and did their 1st gig at the Adswood Hotel in Stockport which was a huge triumph.
The band has gone from strength to strength playing top blues venues in the last two years; JB’s Jazz & Blues Club in Oldham, Smokeys Jazz & Blues in Wigan, The Brow, in Liverpool, Lloyd Hotel Chorlton, (in regular base), Ronnies Bar in Macclesfield and a storming performance at Manchester Academy, and many more local gigs.
The line up includes Jon Ingham / guitar, Damien Mead / vocals, Chris Millward / bass, Keith Mackie / keyboard, harmonica, Gabor Bartos / drums. The band is dedicated to bring good blues to its fan base and continues to gig throughout the Northwest with an impressive gig guide for 2010 including the forthcoming Maryport Blues Festival and Colne Blues Festival.
